This Privacy Policy applies to websites, apps, events and other services operated by Stroll, which are otherwise referred to as our “Services” in this Policy.

4. Information we collect

In order to provide the best experience and help you build meaningful connections, we will require some information about you, such as basic profile information and your preferences for people you’d like to meet. We also collect information automatically as you use our services, such access logs, as well as information from third parties, when you access our services through a social media account.

 

Information collected automatically when you use our services:

When you use services operated by Stroll, we automatically collect information about your computer or mobile device and your activities on our services.

  • Device Information
    We collect technical (hardware and software) information about the about your computer or mobile device (e.g. device ID and type, operating system, IP address, apps settings and characteristics, app crashes, browser type, time zones) to analyze trends, prevent fraud, track overall visitor movement and gather broad demographic information.
  • Usage Information
    We collect information about your activity on our services, for example, the duration, timing and frequency of your usage, how you use the services (features you use and any content that you post on Stroll such as your search and browsing history of profiles viewed) and how you engage with other users (e.g., users you pass or connect and interact with, number of messages you send and receive).
  • Cookies
    When you use our Services, we may collect personal data from you automatically by using cookies or similar technologies. You may read our Cookie Policy for more information on why we use them and the control that you have over their usage, through your browser settings or other tools.

Information you choose to provide:

  • Creating an account
    When you create an account with Stroll, you provide us with certain information, including your mobile number, email address, zip code, date of birth , gender and gender preference. We use your email for both administrative (account verification, customer support communication) and marketing (newsletters, discounts, events, giveaways) purposes. The emails we sent may contain code that tracks your your usage of the e-mail (whether the email was opened, and the links, if any, were clicked). You may unsubscribe from our promotional emails at any time by clicking on the opt-out links. However, we reserve the right to send you emails regarding security alerts, service announcements and customer support issues), without the option to opt out from receiving such communication.
  • Complete Profile
    When you set up your profile, you can share with us additional information about yourself, such as details on your personality, interests, and other basic information about yourself, as well as content such as photos and voice recordings. When you are uploading certain content such as images or to record your voice, we will request for your consent to access your camera or photo album and microphone respectively. Any information that you provide on the publicly viewable section of your profile will be viewable by other users.
  • Referral
    When you choose to refer your friends to Stroll or gift them a premium membership, we will collect the email addresses or phone numbers of the friends you submit. We will store this information in our database, and enable you to send a personalised email or text message containing your name and invitation to visit the our website or app store page. The email will include clear and detailed information on how to unsubscribe from our email list. You agree not to abuse this feature by entering email addresses or phone numbers of individuals who would not be keen in Stroll.
  • User Feedback
    When you participate in user feedback surveys, focus groups or market research, we collect your insights for the improvement of our products and services. Such surveys are optional and more information will be provided at the point of contact.
  • Events and Campaigns
    When you participate in our events or campaigns, we collect the information that you use to register or enter, such as your email address and mobile number for communication purposes.
  • Customer Support
    If you choose to contact our customer support team, we will receive your email address, may track your IP address, as well as the information that you provide us during the interaction. These information are collected for the purpose of improving customer support, product services and and to resolve your queries.
  • Chats
    We also process your chats with other users as well as the content you publish, as part of the operation of the services.

Information collected with your consent:

  • Geolocation
    With your permission, we collect your mobile device’s geolocation when you first create an account with Stroll or when you enable location services within the app. If you give us permission, we will collect information about your precise geolocation such as your location coordinates, longitude and latitude. These information are collected via various means to include WiFi, GPS or Bluetooth connections. (or just WiFI?)
  • Photos, Videos and Audio
    Similarly, if you consent, we may collect your photos, videos and audio when you publish them onto the “App”.

Information we receive from other sources

  • Social Media
    When you first create an account, you are asked to connect either your social media (Facebook) account or other (Apple, Google) accounts. This enables you to use Stroll with the same email and password as your Facebook account. If you do so, you are authorising us to access and process certain Facebook account information, such as your name, email, birthday and current city.
  • Third-party Services
    We may receive certain information from third-party services, such as analytics providers.
  • Other users
    Other users may provide information about you as they use our services. For instance, we will collect information from other users about you if they contact us about you.
  • Other partners
    We may receive information from our partners about you where Stroll’s advertisements are published on a partner’s websites and platforms, in which they will hand over details on a campaign’s performance.
5. how we use information

Our main goal is to deliver an enjoyable experience to you, and to help keep you safe on the platform. In order to deliver an enjoyable experience to you, here are some examples of the various reasons we use your information:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide our services and features to you in what you signed up for
  • Provide you with customer support
  • Communicate with you information about our services (e.g. updates and new features)
  • Conduct research and analyse your usage behaviour on the App to improve overall user experience
  • Facilitate matches with other Stroll users
  • Investigate and address misconduct on the platform
  • Retain data related to fraudulent activities, protect our legal rights, and to enforce our Terms of Service
  • To send you relevant information and ads relating to Stroll promotions, events and marketing content

We process your information for the following purposes:

  • Provide our service to you: For most of the time, the reason we process your information is to provide and facilitate matches between users. As you go about using our service, we use your information to maintain your account, make it viewable to other users and recommend you suitable matches according to your preferences.

  • Legitimate interests: We may use your information where we have legitimate interests to do so. For instance, we track and analyse users’ behaviour on our services to continuously improve our services offerings, innovate with new features, process information for administrative, fraud detection and other legal purposes.

6. How we share information
 

In this section, we explain how your information is being used to assist us in operating our services and in some cases, legal authorities. Where there is consent, you have the right to withdraw consent from certain data uses at any time.

With other users:

We share your information with other users as per your privacy settings, when you voluntarily disclose information to any individuals or the App with the sharing features available on Stroll, as well as the information you disclose publicly on your public profile. Please ensure that the information that you share are information that you are comfortable to be viewed publicly as neither you nor us can control how your information is being used by others. You can choose to limit the sharing of certain information for part of your profile, in accordance with your settings.

With our service providers:

We use third party providers to help us improve our services. These third parties include data hosting and maintenance, authentication services, analytics, marketing and payment processing and security operations. We may use and share non-personal information, that by itself, does not identify who you are, such as general demographics and general behavioural data. We may also share this information with our service providers, notably advertisers, to develop targeted advertising on our platforms and that of third parties, and to report and analyse on the advertisements that you view.

If you access third-party service providers, such as Facebook to login to the App, these third-party services may be able to collect information about your usage activity on Stroll, in accordance with their privacy policies.

 

For legal disclosures and business transfers:

In the event of government/law enforcement investigations, we may disclose your information if reasonably necessary: (a) in response to a legal request, such as a subpoena, court order, search warrant or other legal requirements; (b) to assist in the detection and prevention of crime; to protect the safety of any persons. We may also transfer your information to to another company in the event of a merger, sale, financing due diligence or corporate restructuring.

To enforce legal rights:

We may share information if disclosure is necessary to (a) protect our legal rights and legal rights of our users, business partners or other relevant parties, would mitigate our liability in an actual or threatened lawsuit, to enforce our agreements in Terms of Service with you, and to investigate and prevent against any illegal activities, fraud or other wrongdoing.

Note: Stroll does not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Your privacy rights

You have the right to be in control of the information that you share that we have provided you with in the following tools:

  • Accessing and updating your information: You may rectify or delete information that you provided to us with the update tools in the service.
  • Device permissions: We request for mobile access to your geolocation, camera, gallery, microphone and push notifications when you set up an account and complete your profile with us. You can change your settings on your device to opt out from the collection of the corresponding information. In doing so, certain services within the App may lose its full functionality.
  • Deleting account: You can delete your account directly by going to your Account settings on the App.
  • Reviewing your information: Applicable privacy laws may give you the right to request for access to personal information that we keep about you (depending on the jurisdiction).
  • Updating your information: You may request to rectify or delete your information if you believe that the information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete. For certain information, we provide self-service tools that enables you to update your personal information.
  • For the protection of you and all of our users, we may request for you to provide proof of identity before we can provide respond to the above requests. We reserve the right to reject any requests for certain reasons, including if the request is suspected to be unlawful or if it may infringe on the privacy, trade secrets or intellectual property of another user.

You understand and agree that changes to your privacy settings may limit the services available to you on the App. The particular rights which are applicable to you (which might not be listed above) may vary depending on your country. 8. Data retention

We retain your personal information for only as long as we need it for as long as you use our services and for legitimate business purposes (as listed out in Section 5).

When you delete your account, we ensure that it is no longer viewable on the App. We delete or anonymise your information upon deletion of your account, unless:

  1. we must keep it to comply with applicable law;
  2. we must keep it to evidence our compliance with applicable law
  3. there is an outstanding or potential issue, claims or dispute requiring us to retain the relevant information until it is resolved;
  4. the information must be kept for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud prevention and protecting the safety and security of our users. For instance, information may need to be kept to prevent a user who was banned for unsafe behaviour or security incidents from opening a new account.

Even after you remove information from your profile or delete your account, copies of the information may still be accessed to the extent such information has been previously shared, copied or stored by others. We do not control this, nor do we accept liability for this. If you have given any third party applications or websites access to your personal information, they may retain your information to the extent of their privacy policies or terms of service.

 

9. Securing your personal information

We take steps to make sure that your information is handled securely and in accordance with this policy. Unfortunately, the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% safe, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you provide to us. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept liability for unintentional disclosure.

By providing your personal information to us, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically concerning security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of our Services. If we learn of a security system’s breach, we may attempt to notify you via the email address that you have registered with us.

If changes are made to this policy that, in our sole discretion, we will notify you via an email that is associated with your Account or by notifying you on the App.
